Salicylic Acid

Salicylic Acid works by helping the skin shed dead cells from the top layer and by decreasing redness and swelling (inflammation).
This BHA, (beta hydroxy acid) is well known for reducing acne by exfoliating the skin, keeping the pores clear. It works best on mild acne, like blackheads and whiteheads, but it also helps prevent future breakouts.
In higher concentrations, Salicylic Acid can be used as a peeling agent for acne, acne scars, age spots, and melasma.
Keep in mind that it might be too harsh for sensitive skin types.
