ILIA’s Shadow Brush has a flat, tapered head that’s designed to pick up the perfect amount of product to pack, press, or sweep onto the lid.
Made with a sustainably harvested wood handle.

All of ILIA's brushes are cruelty-free and easy to clean with mild soap and warm water.

How to use

FOR: all skin types, including sensitive, dry, mature skin

Gently sweep shadow across the lid for a diffused look.
For a bolder look, press the product onto the lid and build in layers until you've achieved your desired intensity.

TO CLEAN: Dampen bristles.
Massage a mild soap into bristles and rinse with warm water.
Lay flat until fully dry.

Editor's note

This recyclable, vegan brush is made out of synthetic hairs that don’t soak up makeup (liquids) as much as natural hair or makeup sponges will.
This means you will save more product in the long run with synthetic brushes, as less product is wasted.
Shadow Brush can be used with liquid, cream, and powder formulas and it pairs well with ILIA’s The Necessary Eyeshadow Palettes.
You can easily clean your ILIA brush with mild soap and warm water, then lay them flat to dry.
To extend the life of your brushes, please avoid soaking.

Handle: Aluminum and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood.
Bristles: PBT (a synthetic, man-made fiber).

Founder's story

Driven by her concern for “green washing”, her mother’s attentiveness to diet, healthy living and homeopathy which helped her brother, Zachary Ilia, to cure his acute asthma and severe allergies, Sasha Plavsic slowly started the creation of ILIA in Vancouver, 2011, a clean beauty line which is out to prove that functionality and stability can work hand in hand when it comes to achieving and maintaining your healthy skin and your good looks.

Throughout her twenties, Sasha was interested in design and typography, studying in London and New York, and working for brands such as Cartier, in marketing and branding.
This experience gave her a good understanding of the world of business which she later on used when she returned to Vancouver and founded the beginnings of ILIA.

The name, ILIA, is Slavic in heritage and has a double meaning.
It comes from their great grandfather who was a high-end shoe designer from Belgrade, in former Yugoslavia and it means hand made shoes and also organic and healthy, which captures the brand.

The ILIA BEAUTY promise

ILIA strives to transcend the concept of being organic and clean by incorporating a hybrid of safe synthetics and clean ingredients.
They use a large percentage of certified organic and bio-active botanicals from ethical and sustainable sources combined with a small amount of safe synthetics which enhances the performance of the products.
Each product contains up to 85% bio-active organic ingredients, sourced from organic farmers and processed in a laboratory that is certified with Gluten-Free and Leaping Bunny.
Each piece has an ethical-sustainable approach which is revealed by housing all their products in recycled aluminum cases.

Their taglines involve believing in skin that looks like skin and radiance that comes naturally.
They value transparency and always challenge the conventions of clean beauty to create something out of this world.
ILIA is committed to carve a new path by balancing safety and performance in products that truly work to make your skin look good and alive.
